NBEMO is tracking hurricane Lee. There are three important components to emergency preparedness: • Know the risks: New Brunswickers should evaluate the kind of emergency that can affect their family and their community. Knowing the risks can help them better prepare for any…
Lee is no Fionna but Lee is no joke. Lee will become post tropical as it makes landfall in the Maritimes SAT. Heavy rain, gusty winds & higher than normal waves. Lee will enter the Gulf of St. Lawrence SUN. That give some areas 14-18 hours worth of heavy rain and high winds.
Happy to welcome colleagues to Carleton-York specifically @NackawicCorp for this important announcement. NACKAWIC(GNB)Provincial Government will invest$3.1 million to help restructured entities cover costs associated with marketing and signage to promote their new entity names
While we wait for the NHC's official call, it looks like #Fiona has recently made landfall between Canso and Guysborough. With an unofficial recorded pressure at Hart Island of 931.6 mb, this makes Fiona the lowest pressured land falling storm on record in Canada.
5:05 am: debris everywhere on the streets in Shediac. Part of Main Street flooded. Town in darkness. #Fiona
5:20 am: storm surge on Pointe-du-Chene Road to the wharf. Video says it all. #Fiona
The province's new climate plan is out. It's not every day you see the Conservation Council quoted in a Higgs government press release.
Honestly. Civilians are dying in Ukraine. Children are starving in Yemen. And the people protesting in downtown #Ottawa still have the guts to demand “freedom”? In a country with health care, public education, social services and a democratically elected government?
The @CityFredPolice and @CityFredGov were able to reopen Queen St between the Cenotaph and St. John Street to vehicle traffic overnight. Police had implemented road closures over the weekend, and all roads have been re-opened.
I repost this #Osprey family picture from the North Riverfront Trail #Fredericton which shows the Orange Eyes of the Juveniles & the Yellow Eyes of the Adults. Looking forward to their return in the Spring when the river is open & they can get the fish - 99% of their diets.
The @FredFarmMarket is open, lots of parking, no traffic (no gridlock). Come on over #Fredericton and #SupportFredLocal
I sure hope I didn’t teach this person…….🤷♀️
First off, thank you to the City of Fredericton & provincial officials for their efforts to facilitate a peaceful protest today. We are planning to remain open Fri/Sat/Sun. We love our downtown community and hope everyone stays safe & remembers to be kind
Signs have appeared now including one depicting Jewish symbols. Many more people have gathered in the downtown core. We spoke with one man off camera who taught Jewish studies and was distraught by the signage. @Global_NB
Check points beginning coming into fredericton off highway 2/7. Expect delays. Thank you to all involved. Our real freedom comes from front line heroes like police, fire, first responders, nurses, teachers, military, daycare workers, etc #Clownvoy @CityFredPolice @CityFredGov
This is a sad day for me. @ctvedmonton has made the decision to remove the branding from our vehicles for safety. I am proud of the excellent and vital work we do, perhaps more important now than ever. I’m proud to represent that in public, but it’s just not safe right now #yeg
Effective immediately, Queen St, between the Cenotaph & St. John St is closed to vehicle traffic. Our goal is to limit impacts to our roads, residents & businesses in advance of an anticipated protest this weekend. Please avoid the protest area unless absolutely necessary. 1/2
I know we’re all used to watching for daily case numbers. But it’s critical to understand the # of new cases being reported no longer reflects reality Testing is limited. Thousands of cases are unreported. Hospitalizations & % of cases testing positive are the key metrics now.
