We had a great time coding our micro:bit ornaments with our Gr. 6 buddies! Ss created repeating code to display flashing images and added music to their ornaments. @wfwolvestvdsb @TVDSB_STEM

We had a blast completing STEM challenges during our Halloween Escape Room! Ss created flashing @microbit_edu jack-o’-lanterns, built magnatile vampire castles, and calculated the value of relational rod skeletons. @wfwolvestvdsb @TVDSB_STEM
Mystery ghost words are a new favourite way to practice spelling our differentiated word lists during word work centres! @wfwolvestvdsb
Applying our understanding of strong and stable structures as we designed and built structures that could support the load of a book. Ss reflected on their designs and revised their models after having a chance to discuss with their peers. @wfwolvestvdsb @TVDSB_STEM

After months of care, our spider plant produced enough babies for our entire class to adopt one! Ss celebrated with a plant party where they selected their baby, decorated its pot, and even completed a spiderling birth certificate. @wfwolvestvdsb @TVDSB
Ss coded a micro:bit alarm system to keep wildlife out of their coolers while camping. They even added a temperature reader to identify the best coolers to hold their perishable food. @wfwolvestvdsb @TVDSB @TVDSB_STEM @dtangred
