Ahmed Aslaan, a 22-year-old combatant wearing green fatigues, said he had not seen Damascus in more than a decade and enjoying the ice cream was a perk of newfound freedom. “I haven’t tasted anything like it.”
#Syria: incredible scenes from the moment the prison cells were opened at the women's detention area of Sednaya prison.
They have gone back to their Lord as martyrs.
So many families were holding their breaths, only to find out that their long lost relatives were melted in a vat of acid. Over 90% never made it out alive.
I met Mazen eight years ago at a Syrian solidarity rally in Amsterdam. He was a such a gentle soul, something you could notice in even the slightest thing, like he way he'd shook your hand. Rest in peace Mazen, Syria is free 💔
Today, the body of Syrian activist Mazen al-Hamada was found. He was tortured in 2012 before his release and departure from Syria. Mazen disappeared in 2020 after being coerced by the Syrian regime’s embassy in Berlin to return to Syria.
Hamas’ first statement on Syria after the fall of Assad: “The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas congratulates the brotherly Syrian people on their success in achieving their aspirations for freedom and justice.” 1/
The psychopathy it took to design and build and operate this place is beyond my ability to comprehend
Take a look inside the cells of Sydnaya prison.
This prisoner in Sydnaya started laughing after they told him that Assad is gone and Syria is free.
The international community should celebrate the fall of Assad regime & simultaneously speak up against the Israeli occupation and expansion in Syria. Syrian weapons are the property of the Syrian people. No one has the “right” to destroy them but the Syrian people themselves.
⚫ Saydnaya Prison One of the most horrific prisons in the world. flood ⤵️

Mazen, we all failed you. Mazen, I am so sorry, I am so sorry this world is the so filthy. I am sorry your eyes never stopped tearing for all these years.
Mazen’s body has been found—brutally murdered by the Syrian regime. Assad bears the primary guilt, but the Dutch government is jointly responsible for his death. Mazen lived nearby; I saw him just a short while before he disappeared. I’ll share more details below later.
Only ever thinking of Søren Solkær's photographs of starling murmurations.
When we hear about quadcopter/drone attacks, people tend to assume the killing is automated - a dystopian nightmare in its own right. But an Israeli drone operator saw a child in a wheel chair outside a hospital and opened fire. The act of pulling the trigger was a human one.
Man how do you go about your day after read shit like this
"Quadcopters were emitting baby sounds, playing sounds of screaming women." Palestinians in Gaza say Israel has been using small quadcopter drones, equipped with loudspeakers, to lure them out of their homes and then shoot them. #GazaCrimes

Protesting injustice is always justifiable even if it’s not peaceful
Peaceful protest is NOT a crime. Peaceful protest is NOT a crime. Peaceful protest is NOT a crime. Peaceful protest is NOT a crime.
