The unjust cannot truly harm a just man. The unjust cannot force a just man to harm his own soul—they cannot make him commit an act of injustice. They may harm the body—but not the soul. In fact, in trying to harm a just man, the unjust harm themselves.

Time to Re-read this. Now that over this year I learned much more on Ibn ʿArabī’s metaphysics. I think it would be beneficial if I visit this book again and how it impacts me differently this time than the first time around when I read this

Of all Nabokov’s novels, perhaps none understands the weirdness, the grisly nonsense, of existence like his 99-page wonder Transparent Things (1972). For me, it’s a masterpiece, much misunderstood, but an absolute gem. Urge you to try it if you don’t know it already!

Moore argued that agrarian elites usually do not support democracy Social Origins did not include Latin America. But his thesis was scrutinized in Huber and Safford’s book on Latin America. And now we have a book by Fernández Milmanda on the issue in Argentina, Brazil and Chile.

EVIL DOES NOT EXIST: Really enjoyed Ryusuke Hamaguchi's quiet, somewhat confounding eco-drama about the deadly meeting point between the rituals of everyday life & the stupid horror of encroaching capitalism, set in a Japanese village. Sad, tense, & beautiful with a great score.

There are many wonderful scholars who work on Marx but after reading Peter Lamb @PeterHLamb1 & Douglas Burnham's seminal text The First Marx, I knew I had to discuss Marx with Dr. Lamb, & that he would be perfect for #TheYoungIdealist Series. I highly recommend this book.
