Something to consider when talking about how great the SEC is over the next week or so: Texas won the Big 12 once in the last 15 years but it reached the SEC Championship Game in its first year in the league.
Not a hypothetical: A school that averaged 5.1 wins in league play in the Big 12 over the past decade is currently atop the standings in its SEC debut.
I hate hypotheticals, but if we swapped SMU for Texas A&M, Clemson for South Carolina, Miami for Florida and gave them the respective schedules, would SMU still be 10-1 in the SEC? Would Clemson be 9-2? Would Miami be 10-1? Heck no. Probably not. Definitely not.
