Whenever I hear about how Democrats listened too much to the left, I think often about the Loan Shark Prevention Act I worked on that AOC and Bernie introduced into Congress. It would put a 15% cap on payday and credit card loans. When we polled it, it was hugely popular…
We are gonna flip 2 more House seats in California …. #CA13 and #CA45 are both within 500 votes! Let’s go Democrats — cure ballots and Count Every Vote. And don’t you EVER think your vote doesn’t matter!
Also, for all the men who seem to think otherwise and maybe have never been inside the women's bathroom: The women's bathroom is not a sexy place. It's stalls where people poop and piss behind closed doors. And then fully dressed women washing their hands and blowing…
COVID killed 4 workers, hospitalized 43 & sickened 1300 at the Smithfield Foods in Sioux Falls, SD. OSHA fined Smithfield $13,494. After 290 workers at the JBS beef factory in Greeley, CO were infected and six killed, OSHA fined the firm $15,615. 10/ tinyurl.com/y5ewu3ny
The #COVID-19 pandemic was a disaster for workers; many thousands died following workplace exposures. Had that OSHA standard been issued before 2020, it would have prevented many deaths, especially among healthcare workers. 4/ tinyurl.com/2mmymsjx
After the 2009 H1N1 influenza pandemic, we started work on a standard to protect healthcare workers from airborne & skin pathogens (#OSHA already had a bloodborne pathogen standard). The proposed rule was scheduled for Oct. 2017, but the Trump I team stopped work on it. 3/
If you think the lesson of this election is to abandon trans Americans, maybe consider the fact that Sarah McBride, the first trans person ever elected to Congress, won a higher vote share than every other Democrat on the ballot.
No excuses. Every single one of my Democratic colleagues should be voting against this bill that gives Trump and his incoming administration dictatorial powers to target nonprofit organizations as political enemies without due process.
Governor Andy Beshear, in a Trump +30 state, gives advice to Democrats: Do not throw LGBTQ+ people under the bus, it will not work. His advice to dems: Lead on your values. This man ran on a fully inclusive campaign in 2023 and won. He received the same kind of ads Harris did.
Disabled people and their families live in poverty at twice the rate of nondisabled people. How do you expect disabled people or parents with disabled kids to simply move to a blue state? This is deeply harmful advice. Just leaving poor folks behind?
If you have a kid with special needs, move to a blue state. If you are a racial minority, move to a blue state. If you are a woman, move to a blue state. If you are LGBTQ, move to a blue state. If you are an immigrant, move to a blue state. Time is of the essence.

One sad thing about being invisibly disabled is that you lose the major benefit of disability: community. Disability community is revolutionary. Also, ableism affects our ability to access housing, jobs, doctors, groceries, restaurants, school. This is a damaging take.
Teaching moment. Here's a classic Matt Christman clip on the issues with modern disability politics.
If someone with felonies can be President, those with felonies should be able to vote, to secure housing, employment, and student loans.
Young Democrats come out for transgender rights. An increasing number of orgs and congresspeople are coming out against attempts to throw transgender people under the bus as some sort of "sacrifice" after Trump's election. This after two Dem Congressmen did just that.
Young Democrats will continue to stand for & with our transgender siblings. Trans rights are not up for debate, and we won't stay silent on those–even Democrats–who would compromise the safety & dignity of trans Americans. Our full statement:
New Poll: The majority of American Jews demand: 1) Stop offensive US weapons to Israel (62%) 2) Resume funding @UNRWA (66%) 3) Sanction Israeli leaders (66%) 4) Increase aid to Palestinians (72%) 5) Establishment of a Palestinian state (72%) jstreet.org/wp-content/upl…
Last week, a national exit poll reported that 65% of Native Americans voted for Trump. But rather than falling for MAGA politics, Native voters fell victim to bad data.
6/ When @MichaelEDyson asked in his speech "what are we gonna do now?" he answered it with the obvious answer: we're gonna do what we always did before we had civil rights laws, before the progress we've experienced had happened. We're gonna fight. Damn right...
