What is all this bullshit about actors taking on the studios' risk with them? They're not hitting Vegas together. Actors are employees, and they expect to be paid fairly for their labor. If a studio can't turn a profit from that labor, it's on them. Take it out of the CEOs' pay.
Showrunners, make sure you check that budget before it’s approved. And make double sure you have separate line items for SA, SC, WA, and PA. If there’s not enough money to hire all four, then trust me: YOU DON’T HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO MAKE THE SHOW.
Writers assistant, script coordinator and showrunners assistant are THREE separate jobs, all very demanding, and I’ve seen shows hire one person to do it all. It’s gotta stop!!
