A talent many neurotypical people have that I deeply admire is the ability to contribute to a conversation on cue without interrupting anyone or being interrupted by anyone. How do they jump in at lightning speed with the perfect response? How do they get others to let them talk?

I teach patho to nursing students. Every semester since spring of 2020, I have taught about Covid. And every semester to have to change my lecture to keep up with new data. I was teaching Covid this semester and I told them that if nothing else, understand the science 1/n

I'm finally out of Iran and feel safe enough to talk about the situation publicly with an account bearing my name. The crackdown in Iran is way worse than you think, even if you've been following the news. Institutions like Amnesty International and news outlets try to stick/

So, to recap the fact check on JK Rowling's latest "opinion" 🧵 She disagrees w Sturgeon that no rights will be taken away from women with the GRC reforms, but doesn't state the rights being robbed. The GRC merely changes the process for the document change. Nothing else changes.

Wearing a mask in indoor spaces is what community care looks like in 2022. I'm so sick of being a part of progressive communities where leaders preach intersectionality & social justice, call out people for being oppressive .... while posting selfies of them unmasked in a crowd.

I love that my north German therapist’s suggestion for coping with increased home chaos/stress is… Abendbrot. ‘Dinner doesn’t need to be cooked! Just bread on the table, sliced meat and cheese, done!’ Pauses for a minute. ‘Okay this may be a cultural thing.’ 😂

Those of us who wear masks everywhere are not neurotic. We are informed. Even mild Covid damages vascular system, heart, brain, organs, immune system, eyes, ears, fertility, sexual function, cognition, and more...often silently at first. A mask is no big deal. Organ damage is.

Sorry - an even longer read! But this is a more sophisticated response from @victoriapeckham - here goes: In an attempt to be dispassionate, it’s important to find common ground, even in disagreement. @victoriapeckham is a good example. I think we would agree that our...(1/16)

Looking at all of this from a great distance, of course, but wouldn’t the best economic, trade, and financial policy for Great Britain just now be to join the European Union...?

Since the Queen died I've been enjoying all the jokes and memes but I've been sternly reminded this is wrong - we are supposed to be respectful and sad, apparently. So I figured we can all do some serious reflecting and learning. Here are some great threads:

I don’t really observe 9/11 as it were. Around the same time it happened, I was in school during a drill and was told that in the event of an emergency I’d be left in the building. There was a man in the towers who was blind who ushered others out of the building in darkness.
