@the_belal if your package wasn't questioned by Dr. Ripley, you were certainly doing something wrong!
A 2018 change to Facebook's algorithm boosted local conservative groups, researchers said in a new paper. "By July 2019, posts from local Republican parties were being shared more than three times as often as posts from local Democratic parties." nbcnews.com/tech/social-me…

Balls. Your goal is to find FATAL flaws, otherwise to engage in constructive criticism to HELP people improve something. As a multiple Editor and MANY time reviewer, I stopped trying to shoot people down a LONG time ago. Be nice, or go home.
Standard gap-based #LeafAreaIndex (LAI) algorithms are statistically sub-optimal. You can address their known limitations with binary regression though. Read the full Methods in #Ecology and #Evolution article here: bit.ly/2msCDE5

Machine learning path to fame: 1) Find learning algorithm requiring optimization 2) Apply gradient descent 3) Give this algorithm cool name
Me from now on, whenever anyone asks how the reporting's going:
A grant reviewer on one of my first submissions as a young PI: “Fainzilber is in the top 50% of his field”...
After 6 months I got a rejection from an editor that said “I couldn’t find anyone willing to review your paper so it must not be that interesting”. Sent it somewhere else and that paper has over 700 citations!!
On a grant proposal- that it was “premature” to involve children in the research. Leaving me to wonder: When is it mature to involve children in research? When they’re adults?
“We encourage the authors to include a native English speaker on a revised version of the manuscript” - there was a single typo (trail instead of trial) and two of three authors including myself speak only English....
