Congratulations to Logan Lacey, who was named the Cubb Stokes Offensive Player of the Year as the offensive MVP of the Ohio Valley League. Lacey has a .330 batting average & shares the league lead with five home runs. He's also hit 11 doubles & has 18 stolen bases.
Congrats to Logan Haslam, who is the Gordon Guess Pitcher of the Year as the top pitcher in the Ohio Valley League. A senior @ Willamette Univ, Haslam owns a 4-3 record with one save, The RHP has struck out 44 batters and leads the league with a 1.59 earned run average.

It's tough following two legends - his dad and then Paul Leahy. Joe was an assistant under both when I worked at the Mayfield Messenger. He built on to his predecessors' success. It's a safe bet that Mayfield will stay inside the Cardinal family for its next head coach.
Breaking: Mayfield football coach Joe Morris is retiring from coaching after 25 seasons with the Cardinals, he confirmed this morning. Morris won 7 state titles at Mayfield, and took them to 14 state finals. He finishes his career with a record of 300-56. Legend.

Love this. Trent was impressive in the state tournament. His play in the quarterfinal win over Campbell County is probably the best individual performance I've ever seen in person.
