In order to rewire our brain, there has to be an intense level of awareness on what exactly we’re changing into. The key is building up enough evidence through these behaviors and mental awareness of the changes that your desired identity becomes undeniable.
You’re not thinking about having to do a habit for the next 21 days or for the rest of your life you’re just focused on what’s in front of you right now.The materials you’re working with that day. But the key is not to go unconscious in these habits,at least not in the beginning
Every time you practice French, you are a French speaker. Every time you post on social media, you are a content creator. Every time you save or spend money wisely and abundantly, you are a financially wise person. Every time you do a kind thing, you are a kind person.
Who you are is who you consistently embody. Identity is complex, but every time you DO something that reinforces who you desire to BE, you’re strengthening those neural patterns in the mind, reinforcing that identity.
Not trying to hack them or change them or getting frustrated when I can’t fix them, just letting them be, even if they’re around for the rest of my life - Recognizing that I really don’t value money as much as I thought I did, or as much as other things that matter way more.
I swear it rewired something in my brain. Here are some ways I’m living more authentically these days, that I wasn’t doing before: - Accepting the struggles that come with my divergences.
I’m kind of obsessed with the book The Myth of Normal by Gabor Maté right now. He said a lot of things about authenticity that really hooked me up (in a good way),which had me start thinking about the importance of this value in my life and whether I was actually living up to it
