Someone mentioned that they did a lot of self work and healing while single but now that they are in a relationship, they are triggered often and she says “I thought I was healed!” that’s pretty common and here’s the thing…

We can’t have an intellectually honest conversation about the “future of the Republic” without acknowledging one fact that everyone seems to overlook. And if you aren’t going to say it, then I can’t take your “Democracy-is-on-the-ballot” opinion piece seriously. A thread.

What’s a golden rule you live by in medicine?

If you're a professor or a student in STEM in a Western country, you probably know someone from the Sharif University of Technology in Iran. They might have be your students, peers, or friends. That university is now under attack by the Islamic Republic. 🧵(1/16) #MahsaAmini

Thank you to all Alaskans who have put their faith in me as the first woman in Alaska’s history to represent our state in the House of Representatives. Tonight, we’ve shown that we can win as a campaign that is pro-choice, pro-fish, pro-worker, and pro-Alaska.

I just checked and my med school alma mater now costs about $107K a year for tuition, room and board. About 70% of students receive financial aid. So basically, the other 30% are able to pay $430K in cash, which gives you a sense of who is/isn’t represented in med school.

Pediatrician here. I want people to know that death by firearm is not rare in kids. In fact, it has been the #1 cause death in this age group since 2020. In 2020 alone, 4300 children died from firearms. That’s equivalent to one Boeing 747 plane crash every month for 9 months.

My United States Congressman pulled a gun on his first wife and fired it, pressured her and a mistress into three abortions, and illegally prescribed pills to a patient he was sleeping with. My neighboring Congressmen are Madison Cawthorn, Mo Brooks, and Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Every place and context is different, to be sure. But the things I learned from the Irish and Argentinian campaigns to legalize abortion are absolutely on my mind here and now. /1

Don’t tell me to respect the constitution when I had to be an amendment… twice.

Trans guys are getting erased from both ends tonight... In addition to the usual tweets implying that women are the only ppl who need access to abortions, I'm also seeing tweets demanding that men start caring and speaking out.

Access to safe abortion should be a human right.

I always said I could never practice 🫀 in a state that didn’t allow abortion. The 1st person I saw die unexpectedly was a young woman w/ peripartum CM. She didn’t know. Some1 told her to follow up w/ Cardiology but didn’t explain why.

When colonisers deploy the phrase “moving forward”, “not getting stuck in the past”, etc., ask them about what their philosophy of time is. Why do people believe that past is irrelevant to present & future? And who gets to define what belongs in which time? How? Why? For whom?

I wanna know if men notice when they’re in a meeting with only men. Like do they ever stop and register “hmm there are only men here” as a conscious observation

1. When I took logic in high school, my favorite logical fallacy (yes, I had one - don't judge) was "argument of the beard". I actually think it informs some of the current arguments about masks, airplanes/buses/trains, and other aspects of pandemic response. 🧵
