Defense is one man guarding the ball and four others helping him. - Mike Krzyzewski
Kobe on a how a lack of playing time helped him get better:
2000 years ago Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early Sunday to finish anointing Jesus’ body. What she saw that morning changed everything for all Christians. Jesus was not in the tomb. He is alive! -John 20:18. Happy Easter!
Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.” (Matthew 28) #EasterSunday #GlorytoGod
So grateful to be on this podcast and thankful for @JasonRomano and his passion for Jesus
“I have to make sure I'm performing for an audience of one." I loved this conversation with Coastal Carolina’s head football coach Jamey Chadwell. @CoachChadwell is the real deal and is living an unashamed life! 🎧 -> podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/jam…
If a kid will skip his classes, and not turn in his work. If he won’t be disciplined and buy into coaching. If he is selfish and won’t be a great teammate. You will never win with him. He will most likely be the reason you lose. No matter how talented he is.
It’s unfair, but others will often judge you by the people you’re around. Be very intentional about who’s in your circle & who you choose to surround yourself with. People are quick to assume you’re doing what everyone else is doing. Remember, bad company corrupts good character.
Blaming politics because you aren’t good enough to play is a cop out excuse .. at the end of the day, good coaches play the best players. Period. If that’s not you, work on your game and get better - stop blaming other people
Huge misconception: If you didn’t play at a high level, then you can’t coach/teach the game OR if you did play at a high level, then you can coach/teach the game. Neither of these is true. Coaching & teaching the game has nothing to do with how good your were or where you played!
Basketball season is a marathon, not a sprint. Don't get too excited by any one success & don't get too discouraged by any one failure.
Remember: 🍿 Popcorn is prepared in the same pot, in the same heat, in the same oil, but the kernels don’t all pop at the same time. Don’t compare your athlete to other athletes, his/her time to “pop” is coming.
Grass isn’t always greener! Trust me I know!!!!! Be were your feet are!! @OleMissFB
This is not a frightening time. It's an exciting time. God is calling us! God has called our names for this pivotal season. He has put us here on purpose—He loves us enough to give us the assignment.
College Athletes: If your high school coach calls you to check in with you... you had a great high school coach.
Don’t hide behind the line "I don't have time." We all have the same amount of time. We decide what we have time for & what we don't. Do you really not have time or is it just that you don’t have priorities? When something matters, the most determined find ways to make it happen!
You can’t say you “love” basketball if the only basketball you play is practice and games or the only basketball you watch is your own games when you are playing ..
