Our friends at ALPLM finally broke: they admitted Lincoln was a liar. But Lincoln could lie for a good cause! Hey, doesn't this sound like the argument that Lincoln could violate the Constitution if it was to "save the Union." Every tyrant in history felt he was doing "good."

Today in 1865, Honest Abe was a bit dishonest for a good cause. To get the 13th Amendment approved, he denied Southern envoys were in DC for peace talks -- which was true. What he didn't say was that talks were about to start elsewhere. Details: ow.ly/NW1W50Qw6EJ
