I’ve been food shopping with my dementia-suffering mother a lot in the weeks since her husband died. I’d never realised how distressing it can be when supermarkets keep rearranging their stock to encourage impulse purchases. Basics, like tea, should always be in the same place.
Received wisdom for at least 30 years was that speed limits _did_ apply to cyclists in the Royal Parks. Now this is known to be false, the Parks should look at all ways to make cycling there safe, not just a knee-jerk petition for their wrong idea to be right after all.
No-brainer of an idea. But how do you enforce a bicycle to travel within the speed limit when there is no legal requirement for it to have a speedometer? The need for legal parity with all road users is long overdue #cyclists #20mph standard.co.uk/news/london/ro…

How does the UK go from here to there? We're 80 years behind the US in reducing electricity cost.
2. Money printing made nominal prices go up - not new technology. Real electricity prices are roughly 1/10th what they were a century ago.
I have just coined the word “Harumphant” You know what it means. Use it in good health.
Correct. Consider the Brits. Their empire builders did not really receive the uniform schooling. Once the empire was built, however, the empire rulers did receive the uniform schooling. So now we see this specific type of schooling as a cause, while it was more of a result.
There's a bigger picture here. Every country, after a period of stability, seems to be captured by an elite based on schooling, and a very particular, uniform schooling, more about manufacturing consent than anything else. 1/

All new British houses to be built to the passivagressivehaus standard.
The "Winter Fuel Payment" had nothing to do with fuel and was never an energy department policy, just a naked redistribution to older voters. The actual DESNZ schemes are the Warm Homes Discount and ECO.
Scrapping Winter Fuel Payments & *then* allowing energy price rise to go through is real Treasury Brain - an obvious unforced political error that suggests no-one in No.11 knows how to think about the politics of economics… just ahead of what will be a difficult Budget. Oh dear.
. @robinhouston and the rest of you too. Please don't delete your posts before I have completed typing out my rant in response. It's such a waste of good invective.

OK Twitter ... is anybody out there selling a secondhand Hase Pino tandem? It sounds like replacement frames for our older model are not actually a thing :(

I animated this on the energy grid. Look out for a wink to Where's Wally
'Thomas Tugendhat' is an anagram of 'Mandates Thought'. Makes you think.
It's all fenugreek to me.
