I showed this video to my middle school astronomy club today. I told ahead of time it was fake. I then asked them to put on their sleuthing hats and figure out why/how they can tell it’s fake. Here’s what a group up 11-14 year olds came up with: 🕵️‍♀️🕵️🕵️‍♂️🧵 1/4

The moon is in the North Pole, where the day lasts 24 hours and the moon appears in only 30 seconds completely and blocks the sun for only 5 seconds and then disappears, a breathtaking view.

Gah, that stings. The polystyrene guilt is heavy. For many a research, single use gamma sterilized plastics are critical and nigh-indispensable. Regardless of this, and pardon if I sound preachy, we should attempt to reduce single use plastics.

Yesterday I took a 300 megapixel photo of our star. This was done by using a specially modified telescope and over 150,000 individual images. Do NOT point a regular telescope at the sun. #Astrophotography #space #opteam

My father’s response to my face showing up in Time, Newsweek, US New & World Report, etc. was to tell me that the only thing that would please him more would be to see my engagement announced in the local newspaper.
