Ford and the Conservatives have been in power for over six years - and health care has never been worse than it is today. More than 2.5 million Ontarians do not have a family doctor - and that number could double soon. We need urgent action to address this crisis. #onpoli

.@fordnation is starving public health care of billions, & funneling tax dollars into private care instead. His one greedy goal? To line the pockets of CEOs at the expense of everyone else! But ONA members are stepping up and fighting their plan at every step. #onpoli #onhealth

To all who care - can you pls share? We have to raise the money to pay for our Charter Challenge to Bill 7 - @fordnation's law that enabled the frail elderly to be forced out of hospitals to long-term care (#LTC) homes not of their choosing that can have terrible care, be 70-150…

Sorry. That's bullshit. Violence in health care has been allowed to fester for decades and comes down to a lack of accountability, from hospital administrations, for the safety of its health care professionals.

Before Trudeau, hospitals were sanctuaries of safety and care. Those days are OVER. I introduced the #SafeHospitalsAct to protect doctors, nurses and patients & toughen penalties for criminals who use dangerous weapons in hospitals. Common Sense. globalnews.ca/news/10872846/…

Cuts on essential items vs Cuts to essential services. New Democrats will deliver real relief. Not pad the pockets of the ultra-rich.

"Health care for Ontarians is taking a back seat to this government’s priorities — beer in convenience stores, ripping out bike lanes, $200 vote purchases costing $3.8 billion in our money and the list goes on. Shame on both of you" - Michelle Simson thestar.com/opinion/letter…

Thank you @torontolife for this honour. It's a privilege every single day to do this work on behalf of hardworking Ontarians. I couldn't do any of it without with our amazing team of NDP MPPs, incredible staff & volunteers. 🧡💪 #onpoli #NDP

Congratulations to Ontario NDP Leader Marit Stiles for being named one of @torontolife’s most influential people of 2024! Marit leads. She fights for what’s right, and she’ll always put getting good things done for people ahead of partisanship or the interests of insiders.

LIVE: ONA members just shut down Front & Simcoe, right in front of @OntHospitalAssn, in downtown Toronto with a hospital understaffing graveyard. We mourn the loss of nurse and health-care professional care because of the actions of hospital CEOs. #FightLocal #onlab #onpoli

Health care should be available wherever and whenever you need it. Universal public health care is what makes us Canadian.  No one should wait hours to see a doctor or rack up credit card debt for care.  We’re committed to taking care of each other—that’s why we fight for you.

You're right, millions of workers agree: life in Canada is unaffordable. Workers are standing together against corporate greed and the politicians who fail us. Will you join us? 👉 workerstogether.ca

Health care should be free—it's a Canadian value that sets us apart from the US. Conservatives want you to pay, privatizing doctors and nurses. Trudeau calls it “innovation.” The NDP believes health care means getting care when and where you need it—no wait, no bill.

MPP Dr. Adil Shamji undertakes the grim duty to enumerate the worst 10 Ontario Conservative ridings with people lacking a family MD. Rather than frittering billions and ripping up bike lanes - this should be the top priority of government for all Ontarians. @ShamjiAdil

I asked @fordnation why he’s prioritizing maps for booze over maps for family doctors. Knowing I wouldn’t get a good answer, I prepared a map of my own: the top ten @OntarioPCParty ridings with the most people without a family doctor. They didn’t like that. #onpoli #onhealth

That the USA prefers a racist, criminal, supporter of terrorism, misogynist to an accomplished black woman tells you everything you need to know about America. Canada: wake up - or we're next!

Ontario patients, families and non-MD staff should not pay to park at the hospital - I fully agree with MPP Gates. I have patients leave ER under active care "to go move the car" or "feed the meter". The priority is patients/families. @Wayne_Gates

No one - health care workers, patients or families - should be worried about having to pay to park at a hospital. Costs for rents, groceries, gas, & much more have skyrocketed over the last few years. We shouldn’t be adding an extra cost to people’s daily lives. #onpoli 🧵
