A reminder that Philly’s LGBTQ+ community would really appreciate your support in donating to one of the best community spaces we have, the William Way: waygay.giv.sh/a870 Comments like this and worse have been flooding my feed. I personally would really appreciate it.
I am looking forward to when all LGB finally disown the TQ+. They have been protected for way too long .
For decades the William Way LGBT Community Center has been a welcoming and inclusive space which has provided a safe environment for LGBTQ community members to organize, educate and gather.
William Way has been invaluable for LGBTQ+ Philadelphians for decades, providing them with a space to build community and receive vital care. I'm glad my colleagues @RepBenWaxman & @SenatorSaval remain committed to advocating for them at the state level. I support them 100%.
For nearly 50 years, @waygayphilly has created a space of safety, protecting the essential rights of everyone who walks through its doors to acceptance, dignity, respect, and care. My support for the Center is unwavering. My statement with @RepBenWaxman ⬇️
Official statement from @SenatorSaval and myself regarding our continued support of the William Way LGBT Community Center @waygayphilly
Since 2018, I’ve been spending my holidays volunteering at the William Way Center because it is a critical resource & safe space for the community. Standing in solidarity with @waygayphilly & have already sent a letter to our Governor asking to help support this invaluable gem.
Glad to see so many wonderful statements from so many good public servants showing their support for an incredible and invaluable community space like William Way. If you represent this area and do not support William Way, I will not be supporting you.
Just talked to my friends at William Way who have been blown away by the support - emotional, financial, vocal - from so many people. Let’s keep it up; they need it. The Center is going to succeed no matter what because it’s more than a building - it’s a community.
If you’re not part of Philly’s LGBTQ+ community and don’t understand how critical William Way is to us, just trust me. It is. It’s vital. We need it thriving. Donate today, if you can: waygay.giv.sh/a870

A slice of London’s queer history found #mudlarking: a fragment of crockery from the Cavour Restaurant, c. 1899-1925. Described by @TricksterPrince as “an elegantly upmarket bar frequented by respectable gentlemen and aspirational chorus boys.” #LGBTHistoryMonth #LGBTplusHM
Tonight @7:30 PM join a very exciting event of queer history @ the Free Library of Philadelphia, 20th & the Parkway. My friend and queer historian Hugh Ryan will be joined by my friend & colleague Sayeeda Rashid for adiscussion about Hugh's book, the Women's House of Detention.
Dying of AIDS was like ‘disappearing from the universe.’ A new project helps Philly remember. trib.al/GSyl3X0
.@WayGay is dedicated to a world in which all LGBTQIA+ people feel safe, connected, and powerful. This grant will help them expand their already (!) extensive and groundbreaking community work, and I’m so proud to have supported this project.
📢📢I’m thrilled to announce a $2.5 million grant to @WayGay! This grant will improve ADA access and build a catering kitchen and café for training and job creation, co-working areas, a new art gallery, archives and a reading room, and a computer lounge for hybrid programming.
"I was struck that Philadelphia had lost thousands of gay men to the AIDS epidemic, but no one had bothered to remember their stories," writes Chris Bartlett, executive director of the William Way LGBT Community Center. @harveymilk @WayGay hivplusmag.com/opinion/2022/5…
