Bringing this tweet back because floods in KL are only going to get worse because of climate change. We need to build climate resilience by working together with biodiversity, not against it. We need to prioritise more nature-based solutions instead of overdevelopment.
the floods in KL demand malaysia to reshape how we should sustainably plan our cities. sponge cities help with flood mitigation. wetlands systems not only retain rainwater but they can also protect urban biodiversity & create access to green spaces. nature is our greatest ally.
