Friends, as we reflect on the events of the last 24 hours, I want to remind you all that democracy has never risen or fallen based on the actions of any one leader. It’s always thrived only when the American people demand that it does. So our charge, for all of us in the years…
Watching @AubreeGordonPhD give a fantastic talk on the dynamics of flu infections in her extensive pediatric cohorts. Answering important questions about the length of infection-associated protection (infection protects better and longer than vaccination—hope for better vaccines!
we love our cinder blocks so much at at SPH that we put up frames to take selfies with them!
The @umichsph seeks an infectious disease epidemiologist for a tenure-track faculty position focused on viral pathogens within a population health context, nationally or globally. Read more details below or visit: ow.ly/UbNv50Tfz2R
love it that @florian_krammer got applause at this conference for leaving his computer at home on a recent vacation. vacations are so important, and make it easier to do good science when we’re rested!
You guys.
what a bad day for someone with travel anxiety (me) to travel. such a mess!
Congratulations to my @umichsph colleague @AubreeGordonPhD on receiving this funding to advance her groundbreaking research on influenza immunity.
NEW: @UMichSPH prof @AubreeGordonPhD has been awarded a $6.7 million five-year grant to advance her innovative research into influenza immunity development among children. "This study represents a monumental step toward understanding how early influenza exposure—whether through…
ALSO! @CatchTheRide, it would be great to have the UM campus stop be a stop for both busses (currently the express stop at CCTC is only for the express bus, which often comes late)
the next time @CatchTheRide updates it’s schedules, it would be awesome to stagger the timing of express and local #4 busses, so there’s not as long of a wait if you miss one
it’s not going to reach totality here in ann arbor, but it is totally lively!
congrats to @GregoryEHoy from @AubreeGordonPhD’s group on a fantastic PhD defense today!
walking through SPH just now, i got 2 compliments from 2 different people, on my scarf and glasses. what a nice perk of being back in person. compliments can really brighten a day 😊
our group recently published on the antibody responses of lesser-studied vaccines @SSIGlobalHealth @umichsph @umichsphglobal
doi.org/10.3390/vaccin… I am sharing our recently published paper. We found that Cuban SARS-CoV-2 vaccines Soberana and Abdala have similar anti-spike responses than Pfizer, but Sputnik and AstraZeneca had relatively lower responses. All vaccines outperformed natural immunity.
now officially published and nicely formatted! 🔗 bit.ly/499E7Wa

Most long covid info on Twitter is either completely dismissive or horrifically doomsday. Here’s a thread with some real info!
