Just remember that when people say things like: - "PHP is dead" - "PhP dOeSnT sCaLe" - "PHP is full of problems, use JS" ...and other nonsense... One of the world's biggest websites is going into 2024 STILL using PHP 🙃

I completely agree. In my 20 year career I've used PHP mainly, but a whole host of languages where they were the better tool for the job. There are some people who will ignore reason and claim PHP should not be used because JS is better (yes it is pretty much hard JS fans who…

I've seen this trend in job ads. Almost no company is looking for a "Laravel developer". Many companies are looking for a "PHP full-stack developer" and have JS/CSS in the list of requirements. Luckily, Laravel has all the tools/integrations to be/become that full-stack.

The future of web & backend development is increasingly full stack. Stripe seems to be a few years ahead the industry: for them, this has been a "norm" for years. "Backend" and "frontend" still exist on paper: but in reality, engineers work across the stack, shipping products.
