When I think of existential risks to large parts of humanity: * The next pandemic * Climate change→massive depopulation * Another asteroid AI will be a key part of our solution. So if you want humanity to survive & thrive the next 1000 years, lets make AI go faster, not slower.
To those who think AGI is upon us: 1. why don't we have level-5 autonomous driving? Any 17 year old can learn to drive in 20 hours of training. 2. Why don't we have domestic robots that can clear the dinner table and fill the dishwasher? Any 10 year old can learn to do that in…
Life has ~600,000 hours in it. Use each hour well. The ride will be over before you know it.
Pause for a minute to see 7 rules of life. Interesting perspective. #leadership
Failure is success if we learn from it.
If you just keep happy in small & temporary matters, you never end up doing something big. Short-term happiness doesn't last long. So, try to do something big, and be persistent in what you are doing and what you want to be. #ignore_threats #listen_more_yourself_than_others
Every love story ends in loss. The deeper the love, the more painful the loss. This is a feature not a bug. It's all worth it.
Complain less. Build more.
DM: I’m 48 and considering starting a self funded PhD. Luckily, being older, I’m financially secure but I’m concerned I’ve left it too late! Does anyone have any experiences they can share of doing their PhD later in life?
People who say "Machine Learning is easy" are way more famous on Twitter.🤦🤦 Don't know when I will get that notion but today, even after 4 years working in the field of ML, I still find it harder than a lot of other things that I do!
Become a Better Developer by Reading Source Code. I honestly believe this has helped me to become a better developer and to learn more. Should I Read Source Code? 👉 yes If you don’t have time to read, you don’t have the time (or the tools) to write. Simple as that.
"Becoming an expert is often a consequence of tinkering, not the cause. Developing an intuition for what exists and what should exist has more impact than technical smarts." – Dan Abramov
Dear Developer, What is easy for someone, could be very difficult for someone else, and the other way around. We should support each other. This is how we can build a very strong and solid team.
You don't learn, then start. You start, then learn.
New year 2021 begin from here with new hopes and motivation. I hope this year I will be more near to my dream. My goals for 2021: 1. Learning DL, NLP→Publishing 1+ research paper(s) 2. Learning English→Getting 7+ score in IELTS 3. Learning Math→Just enough to master DL and NLP
I have spent my 25+ years in learning, but today I realize that, I learned only one thing that is "either I have to forget my dream or I have to forget everything else for my dream". I know I am running late. But still I want to work for my dream.(😶 new beginning from here)
Reviewing PhD applications this year in ML/AI. At this point we might as well just say applicants already need a PhD to get accepted. Is this the case with every field, or is it just ML/AI which has gotten so competitive? Thank God I applied 4 years ago!
