We’re 1! And what a year it’s been.  18 months or so ago, an art dealer friend of mine were discussing a digital piece she was showing at Frieze.  NFTs were live and kicking, but she informed me they weren’t a fit with the gallery, nor for the (digitally native) artist the…

once again I will RT and support @saintsonso's theses re: art, chains, and culture 🤝

With the alt markets tanking it feels like it is once again for me to lay out my personal theory on the coins and culture, I admit I can be wrong, I’m not perfect but these are my operating principles. (ahhhhhhhhh I’m threadinnnnnnnnnngggggggg)

Great read on Generative Art by Brian Boucher. « Many think of Generative Art as a crypto-art practice, but its aesthetic roots span a century of avant-garde movements – from Dada and Surrealist automatic drawings to Conceptual rules-based processes. » sothebys.com/en/articles/ge…

No, I agree re: TF and the others at the wheel. They are completely ignoring the powerful community we’ve built that could help sustain value on the chain. But the hit that tezos, solana, cardano, etc took has to do with explicitly being called out in the SEC complaint

Generative is a tool, not an end in itself. Mistaking gen-art for only long form, expecting all outputs to be “good” is absurd.I find more interesting the unknown unknowns than the potential knowns. And they lie mostly in the far and wide exploration, not artificially bound sets.
