I have informed the BBC that I am very much available for tomorrow’s #MOTD
It has been quite the year, so as a distraction from all that here are my WTF TV news moments from 2022 ✨
Word of the day is Zugzwang [tzoog-tzwung]: a situation in chess (and life) in which a move must be made, but each possible one will make the situation worse.
More Prime Ministers have been to one Oxford college (Christ Church) than have not been to Oxbridge.
So sorry to all who I offended with a joke about R versus python. They are both fine, it’s just personal preference! Like, do you prefer to do a quick and correct data analysis and then sit by the beach sipping mojitos, or
Word of the day is 'filipendulous' (19th century): hanging by a thread.
what the PM chooses to remember that is the point.
Petition to replace "quantitative" and "qualitative" with "numbery" and "feely"
It’s difficult to imagine a more unsuitable quartet of politicians to be running the country than Boris Johnson, Dominic Raab, Priti Patel and Nadine Dorries. It’s very important to vote them out at the next election.
I'm very glad to see @Jesse_Norman referencing the horrific Rwanda policy as a reason Johnson has to go as well as the parties etc. I'd like to think there are more Tory MPs for whom it's a factor in their loss of confidence.
Okay Stranger Things using "Running Up That Hill" has me thinking. What's the best use of music in film or TV? And why is it "Hide and Seek" by Imogen Heap in The OC?
#OnThisDay in 2005, we completed one of the greatest comebacks of all time 😱

There's only one programming language in the universe that can specify, estimate, and fully summarize a linear regression model this easily: summary(lm(y ~ x1 + x2)) (that language is #rstats)
I think we can all agree that the biggest winner on the night was Liam Payne’s cocaine dealer
'I believe whatever he felt that he did, he had the right to do.' 'I had to leave my chair I'll be honest with you, it cut me really deep.' @LiamPayne reacts to the dramatic moment Will Smith hit comedian Chris Rock on stage at the Oscars for making a joke about his wife.
Putin channelling every Essex lad at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland
I guess it all depends on perspective –are you a ‘glass half full’, or a ‘I was left in an Iranian prison for 6 years because successive British governments didn’t want to pay a debt’ kind of person?
