Black people are relatively well prepared for what’s about to happen because it’s happened to us before. America has done this to us before. It’s just about to widen the aperture to a bunch of people who ain’t used to it.

It’s never not cool when your friends win things and get their due recognition.

Saw random ad copy for a bass bow which included– “Vibrato for factuals.” And as we all know, straight-tone is for counterfactuals.

Laying off half the staff including the core editorial team isn’t business as usual. @songtradr had a chance to do the right thing, but many artists will look at today’s news and conclude that they’ve bungled it.

- It’s business as usual. - There will be no changes to existing services or the artist-first revenue share.

Deep rage, sadness & frustration at the Bandcamp layoffs (along with everything else atm) The editorial team built one of the best & most dependable platforms for independent musicians to be celebrated & discovered. Only to be gutted by corporate greed. Same story ad infinitum

Bandcamp: extremely profitable company, uniquely beloved of musicians and music fans alike, riding a wave of public goodwill, decides to sell themselves to a billionaire who then dumps them off to another billionaire who now fires half the company

🫤 oh, bandcamp. A shallow and reductive take, perhaps, but tech and VC culture have really done a number on what is good in life. What’s the line? The smartest people tackling the smallest problems? Making everything else dumber in the process.

Damn, Coach @edsbs out here teaching the Hogan crooked arm lariat. #MeanerGreen

I don’t trust anyone who works in the music industry and isn’t disgusted by the music industry.
