Why can’t music/EDM scene be an escape from politics? This shit is so pervasive and shoved down our throats in nearly every aspect of our lives, I don’t want to go to a show and have bullshit negativity/divisiveness thrown in my face there too. I just want to enjoy the music
it’s very evident that this scene has changed immensely. with the increase in popularity its so f*cking important to educate people about the morals and background of this community. it breaks my heart to see people with platforms using it for their own personal motives.
Music is political, raving was counter culture (now it’s a cash grab, a very fun one but one nonetheless) but people forget that the rave scene started as an escape and save space from opression which is about as political as it gets. This was never for everyone and for a reason.
Anyway, I never say anything about it cause nothing I’ll say will never change anything but being a female Dj and reading all these hate comments every day even if they’re not for myself it feels disgusting, to all of my girls in this insdustry, I admire you endlessly ❣️

We may not want to hear it but this is what the data reflects. There is a massive loneliness epidemic in this country which is disproportionately affecting men. Instead of calling them incels or mocking them, we should be willing to hear out their concerns.
