When young people lack executive function skills, it can feel like disrespect to an adult. We must remember that we cannot expect adult behaviors from children. They learn life skills in safe spaces filled with grace, examples, and many chances to practice. #JoyfulLeaders
Conroe ISD and Toll Brothers hosted the Hines Elementary Community Capsule event. Students who will attend Hines Elementary were invited to meet their new principal and school namesake. Together, they wrote well wishes that were placed within the walls of the schools. ✏️
I'm tired of teachers and schools being described as "a threat" to children. Most of us sacrifice more than you will ever know to serve our communities. We aren't your enemies. We are your allies. To suggest otherwise is a dangerous lie at best and a disgrace at worst.

Listen, I taught full-time for 29 years. I get it: Teachers are asked to do a ton. Our work is hard. But improving our practice --- being more deliberate about what we do and how we do it --- is the most important part of the job. We can't push that aside.

We are honored to be able to carry on Colin Powell’s legacy @PowellCISD I was so grateful to receive this letter from him in August. He was such a champion for education and educators.
Sad to hear the news of the passing of Colin Powell. We are proud that @PowellCISD honors his legacy. He was engaged with Powell Elementary over the years. There are multiple schools named in his honor, but our @ConroeISD campus was the first. He was always appreciative of that.
Though many are in survival mode, remember that student learning is our top priority. Being mindful of that fact will actually reduce stress and anxiety and focus our work. The main thing is still the main thing.
