This is Promise. She quickly learned how to pass out candy to trick-or-treaters. And now has a new favorite holiday. 14/10

60% of people infected with C0VlD have no signs or symptoms. They are out there spreading a SARS virus to everyone around them, and those they spread it to could die or be inflicted with L0NG C0VlD. Wear a mask in case you’re one of them.

Many people will assume you're CEV for wanting to avoid Covid in 2023. This is a comms failure. You don't have to be immunocompromised to want to avoid infection. Everyone is at risk

It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of noted historian, Natalie Zemon Davis. @SFUHistory fondly remembers Davis’ visit to @SFU in 2018, the time she devoted to our students, and the wonderful Public Lecture she gave. Our condolences to all who share in this loss.

I don’t know why I tweeted this. I think I sometimes feel like movies get reduced to whether they’re “good” or “bad”. That feels as uninteresting as just wondering if LeBron lost or won last night’s game. To me, watching each play and each move is the fun part.

I've set myself a tricky task today, to choose the autochrome enhancements from the 1920s which strip away the barrier of time the most effectively. I've chosen these 4: Sheikh Boukhari 1927; a tea-drinker c1925; John Galsworthy 1922 & a New Mexico chieftain 1922. None colourised

This is both an advert for a book, and an admission that for some reason my brain has been going "I wanna lick God" at random points for about a week. Like, look, I just think God would taste of seawater and moss and that light electrical static in the air before a thunderstorm.

This is probably the best way for ensuring a permanent endowment : the word ḥabs (ḥabs lillāh in vertical) has been perforated within the parchment. No risk that the ink fades over time! I found this original practice in 2 mss from Maghreb.
