His start in life wasn’t easy and he should probably be dead by now. But looking at Fabius today 16 months later I’m not sure you’ll ever see many happier dogs. A very brave and positive little boy indeed 🥰🙏 (10/10)
He has a big garden to play in when he’s not in his wheelchair and he loves bones and toys and being a little rascal. Fabius is very very happy (8/10)
It’s a year later and Fabius moved in with Sybille and lives a very fulfilled life. He used his wheelchair and goes to the beach on a regular basis as well as hanging out with his disabled friends. He acts and lives his life no different to other dogs. (7/10)
I think Fabius is a great example of living your best life in the face of adversity. Yes he was shot but that human will have to live with that. Fabius can see there is lots of love and kindness in the world (9/10)
My good friend Sybille is a human doctor and specialist with disabled dogs. She has had success teaching them to walk again with physiotherapy. She tried very hard and Fabius was always willing but the injury was too bad. The damage was done (6/10)
We tried to give him all the care in the world with Tina even looking on. There are some dogs that just can’t be fully healed though. The bullet was so close to the spine it made him disabled (5/10)
The biggest problem was the damage he was doing to himself as he had no feeling in his legs. He was just under a year old at that time so as energetic as any puppy. But the bullet had hit near the spine… (4/10)
It was only when he got to the vets and they X Rayed him that they spotted the bullet. He’d been shot near the spine. He would live for sure but I’d never had a dog like this before (3/10)
This is what he was like when we found him. We initially presumed he had been hit by a car which is fairly common. He was dragging himself around trying to find food and ripping his legs apart in the process on the surface (2/10)
