Ok, I’m applying for a 16-25 railcard for my son. It requires a photo. It requires PROOF OF ID to get one. Tell me again why a 16-25 railcard isn’t valid ID to vote but all of these are?? #voterID #VoterSuppression #ToriesUnfitToGovern

Man in the audience, "Boris Johnson was given £250,000 of public money to defend himself..It's outrageous that people sitting in this audience, should they need legal aid might not secure it, but Boris Johnson, a multi millionaire, is given £250,000. It's a scandal." #BBCQT

Absolutely incredible turnout at today’s protest in London! Teachers, doctors, civil servants, university workers and more striking together. We demand fair pay for ALL 👊 #EnoughIsEnough

Wow! Just watch this. Thousands and thousands of NEU members standing up for what is right. Be proud. We are standing up for our children and we can win.

Strikes and demonstrations in GB: Teachers, junior doctors und Tube workers walk out and fight for higher wages. Streiks und Demonstrationen in GB: Lehrer, Assistenzärzte und U-Bahn Fahrer legen die Arbeit nieder und kämpfen um höhere Löhne.

Back to the question that urgently needs answering. What are these ‘legal routes’? I’ve asked a series of experts this week on @TimesRadio and not one was able to identify how asylum seekers can legitimately enter ‘fortress Britain’ I’m all ears @SuellaBraverman @RishiSunak

I hope the BBC finds this all very difficult. Meanwhile, my admiration for Gary Lineker, Ian Wright, and Alan Shearer is unbounded.

In 2011, Jeremy Clarkson called for striking workers to be "shot in front of their families". He continued to present Top Gear for another four years. After criticising plans to criminalise asylum seekers, Gary Linekar has lasted three days.

BBC wants to be seen as rigorously impartial, it cannot apply the principles of impartiality selectively.

Lordy!

Judging by messages I’m getting @BBCMOTD in meltdown. Any presenter who agrees to replace @GaryLineker tomorrow night will be tainted as effectively a political appointment. Ditto any pundit.

Just wondering If the government are controlling the BBC's agenda then is the BBC independent? 🤔

If I was worried about people comparing me to 1930s Germany, my next move probably wouldn't be to shut down all criticism on the national broadcasting service

Emma Reposted

Dear BBC, a gentle reminder that this is written on the side of your fucking headquarters. If I were you, I’d be sacking the chairman who withheld the truth, NOT the presenter who told it.

The BBC says that presenters should "keep well away from taking sides on party political issues or political controversies.” But this, from Alan Sugar, was totally fine.

If the BBC can be whipped into submission by the combined efforts of the government and rightwing newspapers, it is no longer a public service broadcaster. It is an arm of the Conservative Party.

What an absolute fucking joke.

Gary Lineker to step back from presenting Match of the Day until agreement reached on social media use - BBC statement bbc.in/3mJW3Up

those BBC rules in full: - Attenborough can't broadcast a show about UK nature loss. - Lineker can't tweet criticising the government. - Alan Sugar *can* tweet criticising strikes. - The BBC chair *can* be a Tory donor who didn't disclose he facilitated a loan to Boris Johnson.

So, this afternoon the BBC gives in to fascists over Gary Lineker’s support for asylum seekers and on David Attenborough’s desire to highlight the impact of climate change. Fascism isn’t a threat. It is happening here and now, with the BBC enabling it.
