2023-2024 Creative Season ✔️ Thanks for a great first year @GoNUProductions, can’t wait for round two :)
I’m not even that upset the rangers lost bc I’m too busy laughing at how the flames missed the open net like six times
We did Hockey East yesterday and today it’s NEWHA’s turn! Saint Anselm has had a rocky start to the season, which continued over the weekend as they split with Assumption. And it doesn’t get easier, with Stonehill on deck for Fri. & Sat. Check out this week’s recap for more:
Assumption notches their third win of the season with victory over Saint Anselm, and LIU's Jeannie Wallner has an outstanding weekend in this weeks recap. buff.ly/3Z2GuGA
Only one Hockey East player on this list and it’s none other than Northeastern’s leading scorer Skylar Irving. The senior has seven goals and seven assists in 15 GP, leading the conference in goals and total points. Excited to see her play for USA again!
Introducing the 25 players selected for the U.S. Collegiate Women’s Select Team, set to compete in the Six Nations Tournament in Tampere, Finland, from Dec. 11-15! Roster and tournament details: bit.ly/3CNDWoe
You know what the deal is: Hockey East Weekly Roundup time! A lot of info inside on what to expect from BC/UConn, plus a recap of what went down in the back-to-back ties between UVM and Providence last week. Plus, some familiar names in POTW. Check it out!
A low scoring weekend between Providence and Vermont gets some attention, before we look ahead to a rematch of last year's Hockey East tournament semifinal. buff.ly/3YPXvnq
It’s Friday night - of course it’s @GoNUwhockey night! Full coverage of Huskies/Black Bears coming up on @wrbbsports + alongside @daisysroberts and Armaan Vij at 6 p.m. Tune in here: wrbbsports.com/listen-live
A very special thank you is in order for @GoNUwhockey Asst. Coach Lindsay Berman for taking the time to speak with me a few weeks ago. We touched on her time in the pros, what it's like to be a coach at her alma mater, and much more. Check out the Q&A below for more!
Northeastern assistant coach Lindsay Berman has been all over the hockey world as both a coach, and as a player. I caught up with her to discuss her experiences in those positions, her expectations for the 2024-25 NU squad, and more. buff.ly/3Z3A4Ir
Friday I’d argue was one of the strongest games NU has played all season. Solid offensive production, great defense, and a freshman goalie who looks better and better every game she plays. My thoughts and more are live now:
Last time @GoNUwhockey played at UConn, they dropped the contest 1-0 in overtime. On Friday, they flipped that around, and thanks to a 3rd period goal from Lily Shannon, found themselves on the winning end of a 1-0 game. @emmasul02 breaks it all down: wrbbsports.com/2024/11/09/sha…
FINAL: NU 1, UConn 0 Huskies return to Toscano & this time come away with the 1-0 victory. They get their revenge from last year's title game, thanks to Lily Shannon's score early in the third. More thoughts to come for @wrbbsports Back in action tomorrow at 2 p.m. in Boston!
Missed it in real time but what a pass from Éloïse Caron as she was falling to the ice. Banks the puck off a skate in front and somehow finds Shannon for the goal. Really great stuff from NU.
NU GOAL: Lily Shannon was left wide open in front and she doesn't miss from there. The junior buried the puck behind Chan who was caught on the side of the crease, and it's 1-0 Northeastern with 15 minutes left in regulation.
END PD2: One of the biggest things plaguing NU's game this year has been face-offs. Coming into tonight they were winning just 48.2% of draws. They've won 17-of-26 (65%) tonight. Still 0-0, but both sides have been right on the doorstep through 40 minutes.
END PD1: A lot of good chances in the period for NU, especially on the PP and out of the last media timeout. Some infractions of their own in the second half let UConn gain some momentum, but the PK is 2-for-2 and we're tied at zero through 20 minutes.
Lisa Jönsson (2 GS/.911 SV%/2.01 GAA) gets the start for Northeastern with Tia Chan (5 GS/.932 SV%/1.79 GAA) in the opposite net for UConn. Puck drop a minute away!
World doesn’t stop and it’s about time for Friday Night Hockey! Bogden’s back in the lineup for NU, but same lines as last week as she’s the extra skater. Hockey East title game rematch on deck for the Huskies - written coverage coming up for @wrbbsports from yours truly.
I don’t have a lot to say besides I’m stuck between terrified and appalled and I don’t really know how to move forward from here
Took a trip to UNH for @GoNUwhockey’s contest against the Wildcats, and was rewarded with a strong offensive performance — although the Huskies have some things to look into before today’s rematch. My latest for @wrbbsports w/ photos from Jacob Oshinsky: wrbbsports.com/2024/11/02/com…
After trailing 1-0 headed into the third period, @GoNUwhockey launched a massive third-period comeback to claim a 4-1 victory over UNH. @emmasul02 has the story, with photos by Jacob Oshinsky: wrbbsports.com/2024/11/02/com…
Feel like I’ve been here before… I’m flying solo tonight on the broadcast but we’ve got full coverage of @GoNUwhockey vs. UNH coming up live on @wrbbsports at 6 PM! Be sure to tune in for puck drop: wrbbsports.com/listen-live
In this week's edition of Hockey Friday, Emma Sullivan from @TheIceGarden presents Five at The IX — an interview with Northeastern assistant coach Lindsay Berman. theixsports.com/hockey/five-at…
Our roundups may look a bit different moving forward, but we're still locked in on everything NCAA! This week I highlighted BU's hot start to the Hockey East season & the players that made the biggest impact on their teams results in the weekend matchups. Check it out!
BU continues to roll in conference, UNH's defensive structure makes a difference, and what to expect from the upcoming Northeastern/Providence matchup in this week's conference roundup. buff.ly/4dWVrzx
