I am the Speaker of the House. There is no place that China is going to tell me where I can go or who I can speak to.

What happened to free speech in Australia if we can’t publicly insult a brutal dictator without being dragged through the courts? New South Wales police are taking me to court in Sydney on March 15 on “offensive language” charges for holding a sign reading “FUCK XI JINPING”

Newspaper owner Jimmy Lai sentenced to 5 years and 9 months for fraud in a political witch trial to hunt down dissent from the CCP regime. Jimmy is a British citizen and must receive vocal support from HMG. Serious questions to be answered by foreign judges in Hong Kong.

#BREAKING: Hong Kong media tycoon and Apple Daily founder Jimmy Lai is jailed for 5 years and 9 months, and fined HK$2 million over a lease violation. Lai was earlier convicted of fraud after his consultancy firm used office space in breach of lease terms.

I would like to know what scientific evidence is being used to justify the continued requirement that COVID vaccination uptake /must reach a specified level/ before it's safe for primary schools and secondary schools to operate for full days. I am not aware of such evidence.

The #HongKong government has announced the easing of #COVID19 jab requirements for both secondary and primary students relating to full-day classes news.rthk.hk/rthk/en/compon…

.@SuellaBraverman and @JamesCleverly need to establish the facts surrounding this violent assault and @AndyBurnhamGM should insist that Manchester Police give the city’s Hong Kong citizens protection and bring the assailants to justice.

This is deeply concerning and both the Foreign & Home Secretaries must investigate urgently. I've previously raised protections for Hong Kongers in the UK with the @fcdo and this will be raised in Parliament urgently.

Peaceful protest with Chinese characteristics: CCP Ambassador should tell us if this is Consul General Zheng Xiyuan pulling the hair of a protestor as another official attempts to gouge out his eyes. If it is,⁦@SuellaBraverman⁩ should demand he pack his bags and leave now

I’m absolutely appalled that a Hong Kong protester was beaten up by the Chinese consulate in my constituency. The Chinese authorities cannot use intimidation and abuse in Manchester or anywhere else. I’ll be raising this matter immediately. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-632805…

This would be unacceptable on the streets of Hong Kong and against the provisions of the Joint Declaration to uphold democratic rights and freedoms. BUT this is Manchester. The British Government needs to urgently call the Chinese Ambassador in to answer for this act of violence.

Shocking video spreading on HK Telegram channels showing someone from the PRC Consulate in Manchester kicking down pro-democracy signs. A protestor then appears to have been dragged behind the Consulate gates and beaten by consulate staff.

The Foreign Secretary must urgently summon the Chinese Ambassador for an explanation over reports that a pro-democracy protestor was allegedly assaulted in the grounds of the Chinese consulate in Manchester. The quashing of peaceful protest will never be tolerated on our streets.

Just spoke with Bob, the brave Hong Kong protestor who was filmed being dragged into the grounds of the Chinese consulate in Manchester yesterday and beaten. He says hair was ripped from his scalp and he was bleeding from his face and heavily bruised. latika.me/ChinaManchester

This photo suggests that protestors were assaulted, and that the Consul General had full sight, and quite possibly was involved, in the assaults. @gmpolice clearly in very difficult circumstances, appear to be seeking to rescue protestors. @AmbZhengZeguang must be summoned.

.@SuellaBraverman & @JamesCleverly need to urgently investigate. The CCP will not import their beating of protestors and denial of free speech to British streets. Chinese Ambassador should be summoned & if any official has beaten protesters, they must be expelled or prosecuted.
