When you can look at a scar and see the healing more than the wound When you can look back and see that the shadows made you stand taller When you can look at your flaws as inevitable but see being forgiven as a gift not to be taken for granted

all jokes aside when does it get better

Highly recommend this episode of the @thenocturnists It’s the story of a rural family medicine doctor in Washington— very inspiring to hear her story growing up in China, her career and her love of her mother #MEDTwitter

Want to listen to a Kung Fu movie version of the true story of my mother stealing me out of the hospital as a baby? And my DESPERATE attempt to buy my mother some darn ice cream 35 years later? Check out my comedy debut on the @thenocturnists stage!🤣🤣 podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the…

My 16-year-old is spending the semester studying abroad in Cologne, Germany. She sent me this picture of an old-fashioned telephone booth repurposed into a modern-day 'lending library.' As a book nerd, it put a smile on my face-love how creativity can bring new life to old things

There is nothing better than setting deadlines for yourself. It's one of the main things that makes you sit down and get to work. I've worked on this image for a while and finally put a check box on my calendar---still hours away to being done, but at least I'm getting closer:)

What an absolute treat to meet the wonderfully creative @FrancoisLuks in real life. So thrilled to be invited to speak at his Med Illustration course at Brown Univ. Must check out his work--a true visionary in combining creativity, illustration, and medicine! #MedTwitter #MedEd

I'm excited to share my interview with Dr. Tafe, a Pathologist & Collagist from Dartmouth @LJTafeMD When I first saw her work, I was captivated by the color, the composition, the simplicity. Click to learn more about her beautiful art! #MedTwitter bit.ly/3RFC2vm

Our med book club loved your book @abe_verghese A multi-generational story set in Kerala, full of imagery, history & empathy w/ difficult topics (caste, sexism in medicine, resilience with what life throws at you). Put a smile on everyone’s face when they reached the last page.

Some people have an obsession with shoes. Others have an obsession with plants. My obsession is art pens. I must already have over 100 pens. I'm hoping to visit Japan in the future-- for their beautiful sites, but also their pen stores. Can anyone relate? #ArtistOnTwitter

I had the pleasure to meet Dr. Alex Thomas, a Pediatric Allergist, at a conference last year. He drew a quick sketch of me during my presentation. Dr. Thomas creates engaging, colorful comic/activity books for kids about their med diagnoses. Such an awesome idea 1/3 #MedTwitter

Our med book club loved your book @WesElyMD It’s a beautifully written, humble memoir about the harm of delirium in ICU patients leading to post ICU-syndrome, using humanities in medical care, & the struggle to change something in medicine. Must read! @MedBookClub1 #MedTwitter

Two friends were recently admitted to the hospital. It surprised me when both said the thing they missed the most was a clock. Couldn't wear a watch due to IVs/ID bands and their phones were out of reach. They were totally disoriented to time without external cues. #MedTwitter
