My 16-year-old is spending the semester studying abroad in Cologne, Germany. She sent me this picture of an old-fashioned telephone booth repurposed into a modern-day 'lending library.' As a book nerd, it put a smile on my face-love how creativity can bring new life to old things

Our med book club loved your book @abe_verghese A multi-generational story set in Kerala, full of imagery, history & empathy w/ difficult topics (caste, sexism in medicine, resilience with what life throws at you). Put a smile on everyone’s face when they reached the last page.

Two friends were recently admitted to the hospital. It surprised me when both said the thing they missed the most was a clock. Couldn't wear a watch due to IVs/ID bands and their phones were out of reach. They were totally disoriented to time without external cues. #MedTwitter
