I am fortunate that @Jones18Eugene shared his thoughts and time with me, he made me better - just wish I could have thanked him one last time. My favorite quote: “I just want people to have opportunities that I never knew about...” he will be missed!

A wonderful surprise from @Jones18Eugene last night for me. Chief Jones put together some badges and symbols from his career and passed them on to me. It’s only fitting that the man who taught me the true value in recognizing individuals effort, recognize me. Humbly Thank You!

Well said Chief. We are reflecting on John, Kevin, Branden, Matt, Quida, Dave, Mike and Aaron. This incident still rings home to us and has changed our department forever.

On this day I learned more about leadership than I thought I would ever have to. The incident, the aftermath, the courts, the politics, the survival, the healing, and the challenges. I am more proud of my members then the lessons they taught me. God Bless John and all involved.

This incident was led off with critical information from #PSC a good size-up, use of LDH at the right time and purpose, along with an early request for additional resources via the #FireTaskForce - great job to all companies and #operationaldiscipline is always an ingredient!
