No retirement from the Senate will be felt more deeply than @SenatorDodson’s. His leadership has taught grace, humility, wisdom and courage.   I will miss his counsel, his resolve, his humour. But I look forward to many more years of friendship.

Today’s figures show inflation moderated to 4.9% in the 12 months to Oct, down from 5.6% in Sept. Still higher than we’d like, and monthly numbers are volatile, but a substantial moderation and much lower than the 6.1% we inherited. #auspol #ausecon

So many of us who have been assaulted: tried to pretend they were fine; felt they couldn’t tell parents; tried to placate the perpetrator; processed it over time; recognising everything Brittany Higgins is saying despite endless glare of heartless media & legal onslaughts.

Brittany and her dad. “Why didn’t you tell him?” These court room men are monsters. They’ve NO IDEA! 😭 🤬 #BruceLehrmann

#BruceLehrmann A gentleman would have taken a highly drunk young colleague safely straight home. Her honesty, but also her underlying tone of apology for her inebriation, echo modern women’s lot. His action on not seeing her safely home directly is disgraceful. #HugForBrittany

54 women have been killed this year, most by men known to them. This is why I’m calling for more funding and stronger data to inform prevention strategies and government policies. To hear my full interview on Afternoon Briefing visit the link in the thread.

A very sad day for investors. Charlie Munger was one of a kind - whip-smart, acerbic, a born teacher. He has immeasurably improved the investing canon - and much besides. Vale, Charlie cnbc.com/2023/11/28/cha…

Baseline view: conflict confined to Israel-Gaza. But risk scenario: Iran unleashes Hezbollah to prevent Israel from destroying Hamas. Then Israel/US attack Iran that is also going nuclear. Then China blockades Taiwan as US bogged down in 2 wars: Russia-Ukraine, MidEast. Then WW3?

We are only voting on whether there will be a Voice or not. If we vote yes then there’ll be a consultation process to determine the model. If no, there wont be. This is the standard constitutional change process in Australia. The same one we’ve had since 1902. #QandA

I'm voting Yes. Not because Paul Kelly, John Farnham, Jimmy Barnes, Briggs, Missy Higgins or any celeb says to #VoteYes. I'm voting yes because it's right & it's fair. I'm not afraid what I could lose if Yes passes however I am afraid for our nation if No wins.
