I’m a C programmer so forgive me for the (maybe) dumb question. I see people saying that the CS catastrophe shows that we need to switch to Rust. But the bug was in the parser, handling bad input. In this case wouldn’t Rust panic, and end up in a BSOD as well?
We are thrilled to announce the release of Erigon 3 Alpha 1. Here is the link to download the source code: github.com/erigontech/eri… Please read both the release notes and the following Blog Post carefully before installing and testing Erigon 3.0.0 - alpha 1.…
We are proud to announce Erigon++ (E++), a set of C++ software libraries integrated into Erigon which harness the power of EVMONE (Kudos @chfast). Details in the post below: erigon.tech/erigonpp/
20 years of software development taught me three very important lessons; 1️⃣ Unit and integration tests are the best way to prevent bugs. 2️⃣ Keep it simple! Remove anything that's not strictly required. 3️⃣ Question everything! From requirements to cargo cult tech trends.
Is there anyone who would be interested in implementing an ethereum client in C++ (both EL and CL together). I am asking for friends. 🐛 (yes I know C++ is bad and ugly, but it has the habit of being damn fast)
One of my most controversial software opinions is that your sleep quality and stress level matter far, far more than the languages you use or the practices you follow. Nothing else comes close: not type systems, not TDD, not formal methods, not ANYTHING. Allow me to explain why.
It’s the holiday break, that magical time of year when thousands of programmers around the world take a break from their normal work—programming— to pursue their one true passion: a slightly different kind of programming.
The whole #Log4Shell kerfuffle is yet another reminder that the relationship between enterprises and the open source ecosystem is just broken. We, and I am sure many other foundations, are getting requests from enterprise IT depts "is version X from 2014 of project Y affected?"

After advising PhD & Master students for over a decade, there is one thing I find most students need to unlearn: the half-ass work mentality acquired during years of tests and homework. Let me explain (thread 🧵). 1/N #AcademicTwitter
Knowing what to Google is an underrated skill.
You are dead right and interviews that are looking for a specific match are flawed. A good interview should be trying to determine if someone has the intellectual curiosity to learn, and possibly the capacity to grow. We work in a field that is evolving and expanding.
