And on the 27th day of #Blocktober24 my fav block! Ankle ankle whoop whoop! Easy and really helpful in our oh so sick vascular patients. (ps can't believe only a few days left for #blocktober ... sheesh @jeffgadsden you must be knackered - as in tired, not without clothes 😬)

Morning! It’s the 27th of #Blocktober24 and today we’re talking about an incredibly useful block that we use daily for very sick patients… @Duke_Anesthesia @amit_pawa @OrlandoRPN @DrSleep88 @diazolam @EMARIANOMD @fuzzymittens @Assoc_Anaes @ASRA_Society @ESRA_Society

Ok Folks - I am genuinely curious re this #Blocktober24 post. Quadratus Lumborum Muscle… #HowYouGonnaBlockIt? Lateral - QL1? Posterior - QL2? Anterior - QL3? Not At All - QL0?! 😂

Before we start…QL can be confusing because there are 3 described approaches. And to make it worse, they’ve gone by other names in the past, but we’ve settled on lateral, posterior and anterior approaches—i.e. where the local is deposited in relation to the muscle. #Blocktober24

Lung protective ventilation (LPV) during intraoperative care - important for #anesthesiologists to apply. Great overview by Dr @AnaMCrawford @stanfordanes #CSASummer2024 ➡️ "low" tidal volume is actually physiologic ➡️ postop outcomes are better with LPV
