The count includes the Luigi that appears to Mario, though the game never states these are "hallucinations" and may in fact be telepathy, as Yoshi's Island states that Mario and Luigi have a telepathic bond. I hope this is acceptable!
"Oh my God, how the fuck do you sentence mix Morshu like that? He only has 2 lines of dialogue in the whole game!"
that one specific piece of YTP sentence mixing that never leaves your brain for the rest of your life
Here's a few of the internal names for GD objects because some of them go really hard

In Super Mario 64, Bob-ombs normally patrol separate areas so they never touch each other in a calm state. However, exploiting a quirk in their programming to cause them to leave their area and touch another Bob-omb reveals that they explode on contact despite being calm.
In Super Mario Galaxy, some Goombas do not drop coins when stomped. Internally, these are actually "Child Goombas". While the technical reason for this is unrelated, it has an unintended humorous consequence of suggesting that some Goombas are too young to be carrying money.

For those confused, yes this is an option in the vanilla GD (pause menu -> settings -> above show hitboxes) Recording a megahack replay also turns this on by default and never changes it back (@absolllute) Maybe there should be a clearer sign that it's turned on? @RobTopGames
Triple spikes are tighter than they seem, with a 3-frame gap on 60fps to make the jump (50ms of error). Despite these, you have a visual queue of when to jump making it far easier to time compared to a blind timing.
In Super Mario Galaxy, character lighting is based on camera direction for the "rim lighting" effect. If characters are facing away from the camera and 60° to the left, they will be looking directly into the light, which completely annihilates their irises with its brightness.
