If you romance Aerith, you can completely avoid romancing Tifa bc her romance is optional. If you romance Tifa, you still have to romance Aerith bc her scenes are main scenario. Cloud is a two timer in Tifa’s path, he is not a two timer in Aerith’s. Cloud is not a 2 timer.

It’s not a sad backstory that made Sephiroth fall into evil. He had a cruel story, and the writers continue to flesh it out, but he endured and was even good. He didn’t break under the grief. He only became hateful when he believed a lie that it was all for nothing. #sephiroth
Normally, yes, I would see a kiss as a big deal. I'm not denying an obvious romance either. I just don't celebrate a kiss that is entirely player choice. One that has no effect on Cloud because to him it did not happen. If it did, he would not have snapped out of it for Aerith.
