I am very proud to see the first substantial piece of legislation in our city's history protecting trees and preserving our tree canopy move forward on to full Council today. We will save trees, clean our air, and improve our environment in all Kansas City neighborhoods.
Native trees are a good thing, filtering out air pollution and improving air quality for people in our city. While Council often has non-binding resolutions that support climate action in our city, we have a binding ordinance in cmte tmrw (220961), to save and plant more trees.
