Liberals: Elon exerting capricious ideological control over Twitter is bad. Conservatives: China exerting capricious ideological control over TikTok is bad. Me: Uh, both seem bad?
It's remarkable that after more than 1M dead, the political fallout from the pandemic response falls mostly on those who were "too concerned" about human life.
The relevant CDC term here is "Up to Date" which includes latest boost. "Fully Vaccinated" is tied to immigration controls. As always, I'm dubious that vaccine hesitancy is tied to people who too rigorously read CDC guidance.
It doesn't help that the @CDCgov still defines "fully vaccinated" as 2 shots, when it would now have taken 5 shots to counter the waning immunity/protect vs severe Covid for people age 50+

I’m heartbroken for everyone grieving in Colorado Springs today. It's horrifying and unacceptable to see hate against LGBTQ+ people fester in our communities. We must all call it out when we see it and help stop its spread.
A counterintuitive thing about large scale distributed systems is the rate at which novel failure modes emerge. I’ve only led systems up to the Bns of tx/year, but even there 5 sigma events happen often.
I keep saying payers have too much control in the US health care system & you can tell because our prices are so much lower than in every other developed country.
Does @TheAtlantic have fact checkers? There are basic matters of fact ("rule" vs "law", incorrect statements about #HIPAA) that are just *wrong*.
