For the past 12 months I e had writer’s block, writer’s blick, bleck, and blah-blaff. Today, it all gushed forth and I’m doing the floss in the living room with a 0.5 Hi-Tecpoint. Smash that like button!

If you do not have the opportunity to visit in person… I translated the articles by Kazakh archaeologists for this museum catalogue and loved every minute.

I know there’s a Sagittarius eclipse because I’ve finished a large bag of salt and vinegar sharp & tangy twirls. The whole bag and a red burgundy.

I love this. Witnessed this in Altai. Spaces that rolled into one vista became ‘places’ in my mind because they all had names and quarters.

It’s Kazakh film festival online - rewarding myself with wonderful cinematography at the end of each day of translation.

Today we are screening 'Leyla's Prayer', the story of a Kazakh village in Semipalatinsk region located in the epicentre of nuclear tests in the 1960s: vimeo.com/644309841/6300… Accompanied by an interview with actor Dulyga Akmolda: youtube.com/watch?v=mP7Z8n…

On #InternationalTranslationDay I cite @FitzMuseum_UK as hero for best practice in #namethetranslator. I’m named on title page + article pages alongside author. Thank you curator Rebecca Roberts!

Sound advice from Lord Richards. @DefenceHQ would do well to listen to his suggestions. Not a single piece of communication to those #interpreters left behind for over a week as they hide from execution. #Shameful. conservativehome.com/platform/2021/…
