Hi SMB and search fund Twitter, I'd like to introduce myself. 🧵 I ran a traditional search from 2014-2016 that never completed an acquisition, but went on to build a 500 person last-mile company. 1/17

Today I’m proud to announce @CapitalAlso’s first fund, a $21M vehicle catalyzing the next generation of exceptional hard tech founders.  There’s never been a better time to pursue bold and ambitious purposes with people that are having fun and playing to win. We’re…

Anyone who says 15x $1mm is better to own than 1x $15mm has never run a business.

Would you rather own 15 companies making $1M each in EBITDA, or a single company with $15M in EBITDA?

Kim was always a star. Proud to have been on her team back in the early @DormRoomFund days and amazed by what she and Vanessa built. We are an @omsom household

Always really admired this company and founder. Rooting for her recovery. Health is wealth. uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/founder-4…

Prior to selling, my drivers used this bridge twice a day, everyday. I drove over it daily for years. This is a huge hit to the Baltimore economy. Thinking of the workers who are missing and their families.

A massive container ship crashed into the main bridge of Baltimore’s beltway this morning, causing total collapse to the bridge and cutting off the city’s container port from the global ocean. At least 6 people are missing. 🧵

Watched this wunderkind from before he started ScienceIO through a great outcome. What a boss. Congrats buddy!

ScienceIO has been acquired by Veradigm Together, we are going to build the intelligence provider for the future of healthcare.

I can say first hand as an LP and mentor, that @DormRoomFund is the best place for students to learn the venture ropes. Tomorrow (9/30) is the East Coast/MidWest deadline to apply to the student investing teams: join.dormroomfund.com

Love these plans for my neighborhood!

This is exactly what these lots need. 👏👏👏👏 Looks amazing. Now time to shut the Parkway down to cars and really make it enjoyable to walk from Love Park to the Art Museum…

Truth

I had 500,000 Sq ft of “boring business”. I’ll never own a boring business again without an operating partner with significant equity in the business. Here are a few things I like to remind my MBA compatriots to remember before diving in to the boring business world.

At the DRF 10 yr anniversary. Two most powerful words ever said… “Imagine If” @joshk @DormRoomFund #drf4life

We won the bid. WE'RE BUYING A GOLF COURSE!!!

Liberty Media should push back on this.

There’s also a huge element the FIA seems to have overlooked. Part of what has made the modern era of racing so endearing to the fanbase is the freedom of its competitors to be themselves rather than corporate robots. By restricting their freedom you alienate their fans.

This is a really heartwarming story. I never knew about Fox Chase farm and look forward to visiting.

When North Philly native Fernando Rodriguez told his extended family he had gotten a job as a farmer — in Philadelphia, no less — “everybody was in disbelief.” “Their first question was, ‘A farm? With animals? You’re a farmer?’” trib.al/8QwxYCN

“To join a crowd of 100,000 people, after years of relative isolation, was pleasure distilled,” @etammykim writes. “The pleasure of being together in public, however, depends on leaders who value lives other than their own.” nyer.cm/xrV0hI9
