Just at the @OakBayHigh choir concert at @BCLegislature! Incredible youth, amazing venue and an award winning teacher, Tina Horwood - so much joy!

I can’t think of a better champion for our profession, Shannon!

I am both humbled and thrilled at the opportunity to learn from, and be a voice for, colleagues throughout the Province. #grateful #bced #VicePrincipals #Principal #leadership #connect #lead #learn #ThankYou

If you don’t love it you’ll never be great at it. Do what you love, be devoted to your craft and show up and do the work one day at a time.

Being positive and optimistic during challenging times is not naivety, it’s called leadership.

Such a great question for all workplaces. The challenge is for leaders to dig into those norms and values and use them to co-create a positive way forward, rather than go back to the way things were before.

As staff return become an Historian and Anthropologist of your CULTURE. Where has it been this year and what are its core norms and values now? #schoolculture #CultureEd (Peterson and Deal)

As all kinds of workplaces look to welcome folks back to the office or school, it’s important to work together to find inclusive ways of working. Our own ‘fixes’ can’t be confused with collaborative solutions.

The future does not belong to the “educated”… but to those who continue to learn.

NEW TEACHERS: Becoming a great teacher works better when you’re on CROCK-POT time, NOT MICROWAVE time. It takes experimentation, learning from mistakes, perseverance and patience to become a master teacher who makes it look effortless. Especially true if you’re teaching virtually

he told me he always checks in on people after falls because it can be so scary for them- what if we brought this attitude towards mental heath instead of pushing people through the pain of falling down and not giving them time to stand back up check in?

⁦⁦⁦@sd61schools⁩ and a huge thanks to Laura-Lyn Helton, 190 heads of garlic were harvested at Colquitz Middle. Some to replant, many for students to eat in the salad bar next year (fingers crossed). Keep growing, Colquitz!

Amen.

I do not want to see one more article about how "behind" our kids will be when they start school again (whenever that might be). We are teachers, we will meet our students where they are and we will move them forward. That is our work. That is what we do.

Amazing! Wondering what good home learning looks like? Go outside!

Fresh air and movement are good for kids' growing bodies and brains. Are you able to get outside or open the windows wide? Download: northstarpaths.com #ChildHonouringInAction @RaffiFoundation #Sustainability #nature
