Had a good time celebrating Frank , and coming back around to a full calendar year has fulfilled me. While I was actively motivated at first, I don't quite have the wind in my sails at the moment. I know we're very close to Zappadan, but I'll be on a sabbatical for a while.

Were you aware of this?

Pamela was a friend of Frank from the log cabin days. She created the term “wowie zowie,” took on the role of Suzy Creamcheese, and can be heard on We’re Only In It For The Money and Uncle Meat. You could see her in many photos of the Mothers’ first European tour. RIP.

I have just learned that Pamela Zarubica passed away last year following a short battle with a brain tumour. Here's a video of her reminiscing about The Mothers first UK gig. RIP youtu.be/OIbZWUJwb6o?si…

Late night spin - Sandy's Album Is Here At Last by Sandy Hurvitz, aka Essra Mohawk. A short-term feature with the Mothers while at the Garrick Theatre in 1967, Frank Zappa and Ian Underwood later produced her debut album. Very nice. Check it out: youtube.com/watch?v=nAJ-c3…

Tomorrow, then?

Very sad to share news that Tom Fowler has passed away yesterday. Tom was a Mother from 1973 to Spring 1975, last playing with the Bongo Fury band. He re-entered the realm of Zappa music after Frank's passing, playing with the Band from Utopia. He was 73. Rest in peace, Tom.
