I'm still a little iffy on that blue line, but the forward corps looks much better than what I expected, especially given Edmonton's cap constraints. I'm not prone to unconditional praise, but this was just a great day for Jeff Jackson, his staff, and the Edmonton Oilers.
I'm not sure what other shoe is still to drop to clear salary cap space, but at this exact moment in time I don't care. The Oilers had a fantastic day. Their worst contracts were passable; their best either significantly improved the team or locked in gains made at the deadline.

What an absolute blast this Oilers team is. Especially up front: that 11-7 approach with two superstars and five great players in the top-six, plus an any-situations third line, plus a fourth line that takes off with 29 or 97 or even 71... chef's kiss.

We are deeply saddened to hear that two @edmontonpolice officers have lost their lives in the line of duty. Our condolences go out to the families & loved ones of Const. Brett Ryan & Const. Travis Jordan as well as the entire EPS family who have always been our valued partners.
Edmonton could have had better defence on some plays, but they owned a 68 xGF% at 5v5 in this game. Scoring chances were 28-14 in favour of Edmonton, a perfect 2:1 ratio. Simply put, you need some saves from your goaltender.

As a lifelong Oilers fan, I hate the Calgary Flames with a fiery passion but I don't think I hate them enough to leave $15 million on the table to sign in Columbus instead. Gaudreau's hatred of Calgary is honestly inspiring. My muse. My quarterback.
