I receive no compensation for endorsing BUG-A-SALT, but this is the best anniversary gift I have ever bought for my wife. (Advanced combat edition w/ fiber optic sight)

Planting our first big #wheat strip trial of 2023 today in Tom Green County. Grateful for excellent cooperators, beautiful weather, good soil moisture (for now), and the support of a great seed industry. @JoshBlanek @WestTexasIPM @TexasWheat

If you missed me at ASA this year, you can blame Mario, Bowser, and Toad... and @ASA_CSSA_SSSA for booking over Halloween. (Tough move for young families IMO) #ACSMtg If you didn't miss me, then please disregard this message.

Light fixtures are basically just pitfall traps for your attic, right? I say we're at threshold to spray. Mrs. Noland agrees. TGIF.

This time of year I always get the in-furrow urea question. This blog is some great work by Kansas State which says, the risk is not likely worth the reward. @LucasAHaag @SoilFertilityKS osunpk.com/2023/09/27/in-…

In this year's wheat trials, I think we'll include "Dove Craw (vns)" as a local standard. If it catches on, seed production will be fun, but really expensive.

Please vote for my buddy Steven and let's have a West Texas cotton ginner sing the anthem at the NFR!

I'm trying to win the opportunity to sing the National Anthem at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas this year, but I need your help! Please follow the link below. Scroll down until you find my ugly mug and vote! One vote per email address per round! nfrexperience.com/nfr-national-a…

Been working a lot with "ditchgrass" control in no-till fields. These photos are white tridens in a non-crop area 14 DAA. Neither is great but I think this supports that dicamba in the tank reduces our grass control.

Hey little buddy, you lost? Old weed, new trick. Prickly pear and mesquite becoming an issue on no-till cropland out here. Any ideas for herbicide options in a cotton-wheat rotation?

Texas A&M AgriLife, @txresearch and the Texas A&M Wheat Improvement program announced 2 new #wheat varieties and a new triticale variety that will possibly reach farmers in fall 2024. Learn more about TAM 116, Dyna-Gro 7322 and Titan triticale tx.ag/NewWheatVariet… @AgriLife

If this works, it will mark my prowess in "Agronomic Geometry" a future course with a lab final including flagging trials on the contour, under pivots, with no visible tracks because the grower had just plowed... If it doesn't work, then this will be my last tweet on the topic.

Tis the season of cutting wheat, planting cotton, and spraying herbicide trials... interchangeably and indefinitely for the foreseeable future. I love it. And I love most that our field operations this year continue to depend on "where it's dry enough". @TexasWheat @tamusoilcrop
