Having a Hoth-tastic time in mid-Texas during the Great Polar Vortex of 2021. Like most of the state, we're dealing with the occasional power outage with the icy roads keeping us in place, but managing to keep our heads up!

Over at Guadalupe River State Park trying not to fall off the end of a limestone bluff into the river below. Looks like some trees are hanging onto their bright colors!
Gotta be careful when towing a toad... Thank you to the people driving past who gave us a heads up! Made a brief pitstop behind a nearby gas station to get things sorted. Even after that, we still made our next stop! ๐๐ง
As much as we hope for favorable weather, you still get the odd surprise now and then. Freezing temps all across New Mexico, and guess where we are! โ๏ธโ๏ธ
In December, White Sands changed from a national monument to a national park. Although from the looks of things, there's little difference since the designation change. Oh, except for the 6-feet markers on the ground; those are definitely new!
