Suffering becomes unintentionally habitual because the ego wants to be correct about your own inadequacies. It feels negative, but it is still a form of belief confirmation and self-congratulatory behavior.
Relationships fail for a lot of reasons, but one big one is when people mistake their vices and shortcomings for instincts and logic.
In a world that wants you to needlessly complicate every aspect of your life, the most beneficial thing you can do is simplify it. The future belongs to the simple optimist.
I don’t think media companies realize that sacrificing integrity for persuasion is corporate suicide. How long can you force-feed your opinions before even the people who agree with you get sick of it? You can’t treat the consumer like they’re stupid and expect them to stay.
None of this is accurate regarding these companies profit. Revenue has increased slightly which is a very different metric. Most have single digit operational profits with increasing expenses. Companies don’t conspire to raise prices at the same time. This is 100% inflation.
Chipotle: 26% profit increase. Raising prices. Starbucks: 31% profit increase. Raising prices. McDonalds: 59% profit increase. Raising prices. Shell/Mobile/BP: 60% profit increase. Raising prices. There's not a labor shortage. This isn't inflation. It is 100% corporate greed.
I hate when people try to pretend that the schools systems aren’t at least partially responsible for why so many are terrible with money. The broader point being that public schools are one of the most outdated and inefficient structures we have.
Censorship is such a funny thing to push because historically it has not only failed miserably, but also had the opposite intended effect. If you’re praying for someone’s downfall you let them do it themselves.
Inflation hurts the poorest people the most. Downplaying it, gaslighting people concerned about it, and just ignoring its consequences is evil.
The world will ask you who you are, and if you don’t know, it will tell you.
The two main archetypes driving men’s behavior are that of a monk or a conqueror. Isolation and peace vs chaos and glory. Buddha vs. Genghis khan. The only difficult/confusing part about understanding it for men and women is accepting that it will change day to day.
The most frustrating part of political tribalism is our political hypocrisy. It’s the end of the world when the opposing party does something but you look the other way when yours does it. Vapid political stances are why we are in this mess.
Stop mixing up ideas of fantasy with your goals. Goals are tangible things you can take quantifiable steps towards and accomplish. Fantasies are concepts and ideas that are ethereal and idealized in your imagination. Keep your feet on the ground.
It’s so strange how people will categorically box you in for life once they associate you with one thing. It really limits things conversationally and I think it is an under-discussed cause of people’s social anxiety. Why do we treat each other so one dimensionally?
Realizing you are friends with someone strictly because of proximity and association is always a weird feeling.
Do you think you would get along with an exact clone of yourself?

Sen. Blumenthal asks Facebook "Will you commit to ending Finsta?" Facebook's safety chief has to explain that Finsta is slang for a fake account.
…What has happened to this app? Lmao
I think too many people overlook the fact that you really need to LIKE your partner. I find liking them to be a step more important than loving them.
The people that feel like everything happens for a reason, and the people that feel like things happen for no reason at all should both feel a sense of liberation. It’s the people who can’t decide that are miserable.
