It’s Friday morning and still silence from @Doiregaa Is Rory Gallagher going to be on the sideline on Sunday as Derry manager? Given that his solicitor firm belongs to the @TyroneGAALive joint manager, it appears the @officialgaa fraternity is backing him?
Given the seriousness of these allegations, they must be investigated and @Doiregaa cannot have the individual lead their team pending the results of that. Victims of domestic violence are watching how this is handled, wondering if they would be believed.
When I read his statement, this is what I hear - I do not deny the allegations. They were investigated previously so no need to investigate again. I have the children so it doesn’t matter if I was violent to my estranged wife. That’s all sorted so. See you in Clones.
The stigma and victim blaming being thrown at Nichola Gallagher is disgusting. I can't get her out of my head and really hope where ever she is right now that she has saftey, support, compassion.
Wonder how many of those saying Nicola shouldn't have spoke out a) this week or b) until she "fixed" herself also done the Darkness into Light walk with their local GAA.
Post about Rory Gallagher was a horrendous read. Huge respect to his wife for her bravery in sharing her story. Domestic abuse is truly disgusting & I sincerely hope we don't ever see him grace the sideline of a GAA match again. Hoping for a swift response from Derry GAA on this
